Paralegal to the rescue: welcome Manon!

Manon Van Merode has been our Bannister Paralegal since February. That doesn't just sound funky, Manon is a funky "madam" with an adventurous spirit. And ... that's how we like our colleagues!

We asked her Bannister-wise 3 questions, let's meet Manon!

Tell me, what does the day of a Paralegal look like Manon?

Manon: "As a paralegal, I provide legal and administrative support to the lawyers. For example, I manage the website www.mijnboete.be. Through that channel, I provide free daily legal advice to people who have questions about their fines. I also prepare various files from A to Z. I follow up files myself and learn new things every day."

While applying, did you consciously choose Bannister?

Manon: "It is a young and growing firm, which immediately appealed to me. I also find the different specializations that Bannister has in house very fascinating, which provides the necessary variety in my job. The colleagues are all relatively young and very ambitious, which is what I find really important; to work in an environment with like-minded colleagues.
And yes, I think I have chosen well, I have really enjoyed myself. The atmosphere in the office is open and everyone is very sociable. I immediately felt at home. The mini-teambuildings such as an online escaperoom, the weekly Bannister run and the coronaproof lunch of course contribute to that..”

Most memorable moment so far?

Manon: "Gosh, hard. It's not really one moment, but rather the sum total of all the bouts of laughter I've had here. It's really striking that everyone here has a good sense of humor, so there are lots of laughs in the office. The details are not for publication (laughs), but those inside jokes, they always relieve a bit of the daily workload anyway."
